New word for today ‘Regsplaining’ = saying nothing helpful using words couched in legal terms referenced to laws that are inadequate for their purpose

12 Jun 2018

In a tale of two cities we saw this week the head of the US SEC regsplaining in a slightly arrogant and condescending fashion that there is nothing to see or do here...existing regulations cover cryptos just fine, if its a Security then follow the law, simple.

Ok then mate thanks for that!

Lithuania on the other hand released a 14 page deck, also saying exiting laws apply but then also helpfully and encouragingly setting out a number of points of clarification and practical advice on how some of the laws will apply to some of the peculiarities of ICO’s.

The difference is subtle perhaps but for an issuer it is night and day in terms of clarity and more importantly the flavour of the regulatory environment.
